You may read, print and share these pages for your own use, including sending them to a neighbor or to whoever else is involved in the decision. You may not:

• Copy the writing on this site and publish it as your own, in whole or in part.
• Use the site or its content to build a competing service listing or to train a product without our permission.
• Attempt to interfere with the site, its host, or anyone else's use of it.
• Use any automated system in a way that places an unreasonable load on the site.

The text, page structure, photographs and design of this site are our property or are used with permission, and they are protected by copyright. Quoting a short passage with a link back is welcome. Republishing a page is not.

The published cost data, utility guidance and state material we cite belong to their own publishers, and their terms apply on their own sites.

Hennessey Tree & Landscape is a tree removal and land clearing business. We take trees down, grind stumps, clear and mulch land, respond to storm damage, and put ground back into usable condition.

We do not hold arborist licensing, so we do not prune, trim, plant or replace trees, and we do not assess or treat the health of a tree. If that is what your property needs, we will say so and refer you to a licensed arborist. Nothing on this site should be read as an offer to do that work.

The pages on this site describe how tree removal and land clearing work, what drives the price, what the signs of a failing tree look like, and what the conditions are in the towns we cover. They are written carefully, and figures that are not our own are attributed to the source they came from and dated.

They are still general information. They are not an engineering assessment, they are not legal advice about a boundary or an easement, and they are not a substitute for having somebody look at the specific tree in front of you.

Two things in particular change: the ground, and the prices. What a job involves depends on access, on what is underneath, on what the tree is standing next to, and on the weather in the week we do it. Published cost ranges move year to year. Treat what you read here as the shape of the answer and let us give you the number.

Before we work we need to know that the person hiring us is entitled to have the work done. You are responsible for confirming that the tree or the land is yours, and for any permission, association approval or municipal permit your property or your town requires.

Trees in the public right of way, and trees touching utility lines, are usually not the property owner's to remove. Those are handled by the town or by the utility, and we will tell you when a job falls into that category rather than take it on.

If a wire is down, call 911 first, then the utility. Do not wait on a reply from us and do not approach the tree.

Nothing on this site is an offer that becomes a contract when you accept it. The cost ranges published on these pages are third-party market figures for Connecticut, shown so you can plan. They are not our prices and they are not a quote.

An enquiry through the form or by phone starts a conversation. Looking at the job tells us what it actually involves. A written scope and a price follow that, and only that written scope, once agreed, creates an obligation on either side.

We respond to emergencies around the clock. That is a dispatch arrangement and it is not the same thing as the office being open, which is Monday to Saturday, 7am to 5pm.

An emergency is answered by phone. Do not use the contact form for a tree on a house, a blocked drive or a limb over a wire, because a form submission is not an alert and nobody is watching it at three in the morning. Call (203) 751-2451.

This site links to Google, Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, Yelp, and to the published sources we cite. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement of everything the linked organization publishes.

We try to keep the site available and correct, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or free of anything harmful. The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties about it.

To the fullest extent permitted by Connecticut law, Hennessey Tree & Landscape is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or from reliance on information published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your rights under the written scope for work performed on your property.

How we handle information you send us is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, and the state and federal courts serving Connecticut have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies.
